Anubis Pyramid

Anubis Pyramid

The pyramid Anubis is a community build that serves as the entrance to our nether hub next to Spawn. It also contains a shrine for the Dragon Egg. | X | Y | Z | | ----- | ----- | ----- | | 0 | 0 | 0 | The portals are directly linked with the nether hub. - TheRune222 - BlueJamessmith73 - BuildingBrute - genieu13 - ImagineLegend - Crabbiest - Kunais - Kiwitharat - QuesiBoy 02/06/2024

Lore and Tales

A long long time ago, There was an uncommon alliance between almost every nation in the world. You see the modorists just discovered their precious godly crystals and there was a rumour which spread all the way to the emperor. It said that the world had grown to violent and the god of death himself would put an end to it. For this The modorists made a proposal to built a shrine for the god which extended all the way to the depts of the Duat. The residents of the Blackstone castle, the Egyptian empire and the Hasea village all agreed to help and complete this collosal project. When Anubis eventually came it seemed like he was pleased, but after he was gone it appeared he had left something behind. An egg...

The Egg War

The dragon egg stored on the top platform was, according to accounts, the reason for the Egg War. Strange things happened, which resulted in cults worshipping the egg and others fighting against it. It is said that the egg got stolen multiple times from its platform. After one very sly theft, the egg was discovered completely encased with hundrets of chests that shielded. Weird indeed. But in the end, the egg ended up in Anubis Pyramid and will remain for eternity.

Build Process

Since we have sand dupers disabled on this server, we had to mine everything by hand. We mined a whole desert with hundrets of shulkers for it. Since most of the outer shell of the pyramid is made from smooth sandstone, we had to burn it all. Therefore, we had to build a bamboo supersmelter for it.

Then, when we already finished quiet a considerable amount of the pyramid, we had the idea to make a giant hole with glass-void effect underneath. Because we're stupid, we came up with this idea after we finished the pyramid. We didn't want to destroy the pyramid with the TNT flying machines, so we mined several layers by hand. Then we let 37 TNT flying machines do the rest for two layers totalling 74 flying machines.

And of course there would be giant lava lakes and underwater caves... Clearing that took us probably longer than everything else previously.

Lava

The idea was to fill this hole with layers of glass to make a void effect. The portals of the pyramid were going to be connected by bridges that vanish into the void. These glass layers was the primary reason why it took us so long (years) to finish this project. We needed 7.5 shulkers of black-stained glass for every layer. And to complete the void effect we needed 10 layers! Eventually we managed to finish it (thanks to Rune's commitment) by draining yet another desert. The furnace was burning at full blast (and broke several times in the process as usual). Below is a picture of the finished interior (the void effect works a lot better without shaders).
