# Modpack Features
- [Proximity Voicechat](./vc.md)
- [Litematica](pathname://https://litematica.org/)
- Make beacon beams disappear by placing a clear glass block on top of the beacon. Colored glass will still work as usual.
- Entity Texture Features, which adds a lot of skin and ressource pack related features. For example, [you can make your skin glow or animate](pathname://https://github.com/Traben-0/Entity_Texture_Features/blob/ETF-Main/.github/README-assets/SKIN_GUIDE.md) (like blinking eyes).
- Tons of performance mods
- Shader support. A custom modification of the [Bliss shaderpack](pathname://https://github.com/X0nk/Bliss-Shader/releases) is also included.
- Connected textures
- Controller support
- Minimap. If you think the Minimap is annoying, you can turn it of by heading into your settings: `ESC > Mods > Xaero's Minimap > Minimap:`

# Official Modpack
We use and maintain a modpack for the server that adds some minimal quality-of-life features and includes a lot of performance mods to make the game run better. We mainly have this modpack to make the installation and updating of the [Proximity Voicechat](./vc.md), which we use extensively, a lot easier for everybody.
The modpack is not required to join the server but it is recommened to at least install the [Proximity Voicechat mod](pathname://https://modrinth.com/plugin/simple-voice-chat) as we all use it.
## Installation
You can watch [this tutorial](pathname://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPwIr_54KVo) or follow the steps below.
1. Download the Modrinth launcher: https://modrinth.com/app
2. Launch the app and follow the instructions. (You don't need to sign in with a Modrinth account; you can skip that step).
3. Following the instructions, sign in with your Minecraft (Microsoft) account into the launcher.
4. Search for *SMP-Essentials* in the modpack search. Install it.
:::info
If you want to update the modpack simply click *Update* on the top-right of the Modpack screen. If you want to add your own mods to it, go into the modpack Options and scroll all the way to the bottom. There is an option called *Unlock*. The pack will remain linked, and you can still change versions. Only mods listed in the modpack will be modified on version changes.

# Armor Stand Tools
On this server you can modify armor stands to a great extent. You can move it, rotate it, move limbs, add armor, resize it, make it invulnerable and more. This is how you do it:
1. Build an amor stand.
2. Stand next to the armor stand and look at it. Run the command `/ast` to open the Armor Stand Tools menu.
3. This GUI menu lets you modify everything about the armor stand. Some features, like spawning, are disabled to fit in better with the Survival gameplay. I recommend watching [this tutorial video (8:30)](pathname://https://youtu.be/x0a11Dpc4Ng?si=DFgwVKvJ2jpDZk-r&t=514) to learn how to use the feature.
4. When you're done modifying run `/ast` again to close the menu.
:::info[Tip]
Make sure to make it invulnerable after you're done making your character if you don't want players to accidentally punch it.

Make sure you unlock chests that you want to use in Redstone contraptions.

## Protection Settings
By default, the lock- and unlock-mode will automatically disable after clicking a chest. You can configure to stay in that mode for locking or unlocking multiple chest. You can do that by going into the ChestProtect menu settings with `/chestprotect menu`. Then click on *Settings*. Set the first option *Persistent Lock/Unlock* to *enabled* by clicking on it. In this settings menu you can also disable autolocking and other things.

# Proximity Voicechat
We use a [proximity voice chat mod](pathname://https://modrinth.com/plugin/simple-voice-chat) that lets you speak to other player in the game. We recommend you install the mod with [our modpack](./Modpack/official-modpack.md) as it's much quicker to install and update. If you don't want to use the modpack, you can of course also install the mod yourself.
## Usage
Below are a couple of default key bindings that will help you with using the mod. You can change the key bindings in your controls settings.
- `v`: Open voice chat settings to adjust your microphone and speaker. We recommend setting your microphone not to push-to-talk for a more natural talking experience. There is also a noise suppresion setting to turn off the background noise picked up by your mic.
- `g`: Open the group window for creating and joining group calls. When using groups you can hear your friend anywhere. If you set your group to *Open* everyone around you that's not inside the group can also hear you.
- `n`: Disable the voice chat.
